protel™ Voyager was rated one of the best apps in the hotel industry and deservedly placed third, as voted for by Travel Industry Club members, in this year’s Best Travel Industry App Awards in Germany on 16 September 2015. protel Voyager is a web-based application that allows guests to seamlessly interact with the hotel before, during and after their stay and in their own preferred manner.
This useful application has obviously convinced many users as to its popularity, as was evident by the public online voting carried out in co-operation with Die Welt, a German weekly newspaper. The diverse group of potential guests placed protel Voyager 3rd out of 13 mobile services which provides valuable feedback, confirming the company’s mission to continue developing and improving upon their applications to bring the guest and hotel closer together.
Ian Lumsden, Director of Sales and Marketing at Ankerdata who supply protel systems in South Africa, was delighted about the award. “The fact that so many users would like to use the application is a great compliment and being acknowledged for offering one of the best travel apps just puts the cherry on the cake for protel and Ankerdata,” he commented. The application provides you as a holiday or business traveller with information about your arrival and stay, you can order room service, find out what is on in the area, check your invoice and personal profile – there are many other interesting features the guest can use – think of it as a personal butler of sorts. At the same time the hotelier is able to learn more about his guests and tailor offers to meet the guests’ wishes and requests.
The Travel Industry Club is an independent business group founded in 2005 which operates as a central networking platform for the informal exchange of ideas between heads of the tourism industry. In principle the members are not the companies themselves, but rather the people behind the companies, from airline managers to hoteliers, tourism directors and representatives of the media.
